Hyundai will soon be launching the 7 seat version of Creta. The new car will be launched on April 6 and it will be called Hyundai Alcazar. This car will be Hyundai’s answer to Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500, and MG Hector Plus.
Hyundai Creta has always been a huge success for Hyundai, not just in India but overseas too. The current version of this car is in huge demand and there is a waiting period on every single variant that ranges from 2 to 6 months. Observing the huge popularity of cars added with two extra seats, The Alcazar is expected to be a tough competitor for the Indian and Chinese manufacturers.
Hyundai Alcazar has been caught while on test in India multiple times and the design language except for the rear seems identical to Creta. The rear section of this car may see some design changes with respect to bumper, tail light shape and placement along with number plate positioning. While there have been no words spelled in terms of probable powertrains, we are expecting a similar setup with slightly tuned up figures.
Hyundai Creta is currently available with 3 engine options out of which two of them are petrol units while one is a diesel. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is good for 114PS and 144Nm of torque. The powerful petrol unit is a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine which churns out 140PS and 242Nm of torque. The diesel engine has got 115PS of power with 250Nm of torque. The Alcazar may receive the similar setup of engines as well. We are expecting Hyundai Alcazar price to fall between Rs. 13 and 20 lakhs.
Do you think Alcazar would be a wise competitor against the newly launched Tata Safari and soon to be launched all new Mahindra XUV500? Let us know your views in the comment section.
